Walk Now for Autism Speaks is a fun-filled, family friendly event and is the most powerful force to fund vital research that leads us to the answers we need about Autism.

Next Sensory Family Film — October 2nd

Next sensory friendly film is Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole – on October 2nd.

AMC Entertainment (AMC) and ASA have teamed up to bring families affected by autism and other developmental differences a special opportunity to enjoy their favorite films in a safe, accepting environment on a monthly basis. With sensory friendly films, the auditorium will have its lights brought up and the sound turned down. Additionally, audience members are welcome to bring in their own casien and gluten free snacks, get up and dance, walk, shout, or sing.

Kate Winslet Starts Autism Charity

Kate Winslet has founded a charity benefiting people with Autism.

The Oscar winning actress was inspired after watching A Mother’s Courage: Talking Back to Autism which tells the story of an Icelandic mother’s fight to find a way for her non-verbal 10-year-old son to communicate.

The Golden Hat Foundation will give those with autism the opportunity to get an education, receive job training, and most importantly learn to communicate!

“It makes me incredibly proud to work on this effort to bring awareness to the plight of people with autism,” says Kate.
